Even after spending 18 years of my life in New Delhi..i just can't seem to get enough of it!
People often tell me it's too busy..too noisy..too crowded..
But only people who've lived there can know how this city gets you hooked on to it.
The food..the festivals..the monuments..the weather..the cultural diversity..
The warmth of the sun..the carnivals..the markets!!
New Delhi is known as the city of hearts for a reason - people wear them on their sleeves :)
The memory that comes to mind right now is driving around India Gate at 3 in the morning..with loads of ice cream..a car full of friends and a road full of vendors selling balloons, toy airplanes, bubbles.. and the guys with the dancing monkeys..
( India Gate- made as a tribute to the soldiers of World War 1 and the Afghan Wars. It is engraved from top to bottom with the names of all the 9000 soldiers who sacrificed their lives. It front of it is a flame, with a gun and a soldier's hat (the Amar Jawan Jyoti), that has never been extinguished since the day it was first set..)
So many memories..
I miss it more than words..
The city which never really sleeps..the city i call HOME <3
